Kubanychbek is a guide and interpreter who has been working in tourism industry of Kyrgyzstan since 2005. He has an extensive experience of work with international tourists from different countries as well as an excellent knowledge of the most beautiful places and sights of Kyrgyzstan.

As for his language skills, Kubanychbek speaks fluent French and English, which guarantees that you won’t have any language barrier with him and certainly will learn a lot of interesting things about Kyrgyzstan.

Currently Kubanychbek collaborates with several travel agencies, including French, Belgian and Polish companies. Besides, he organizes horseback riding, trekking, cultural and mixed tours upon request.

TOUR DESCRIPTION 

Sary-Chelek (“Yellow Bucket” in Kyrgyz) is a gorgeous alpine lake in the west of the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan, surrounded by a walnut forest, protected as biosphere reserve by UNESCO. The area of the reserve comprises rivers with rapid cascades, waterfalls up to 3 meters high and beautiful valleys. Besides, there are glaciers, permanent ice fields and high mountain lakes on the north facing slopes. 

  • Itinerary:  Bishkek – Talas – Madaniyat village – Talas range  – Kara-Kuldzha pass – Lake Kara-Suu – Sary-Chelek Biosphere Reserve – Arkit village – Kyzyl Oi village – Song-Kol – Burana tower – Bishkek

  • Level of difficulty:  difficult (2 mountain passes over 3000 m – crossing on foot)

  • Requirements: trekking boots, weatherproof warm clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, pocket torch, sleeping bag.

 

Day 1: Manas Airport – Bishkek

Meeting at the airport and transfer to Bishkek. City tour. Accommodation in Rich Hotel.

*this day is optional (for those who want spend the first day in Bishkek) subject to additional charges.

Day 2:  Bishkek – Talas

After  breakfast, we will head to Talas through the Too Asuu pass (3300m) and Suusamyr valley (by car). Lunch in a road café. We will arrive in Talas in the afternoon, where we are going to meet the local team and prepare for horseback riding. Dinner and overnight stay in a guest house.

Day 3: Madaniyat village

Breakfast.  Transfer to Madaniyat village. Tour and horseback riding briefing. Our route goes alongside a stream towards the Urmaral gorge. Short picnic (lunch). Dinner and overnight stay in a camp close to the junction of two rivers.

Horse riding – 6/7 hours.

Day 4: crossing the Talas Range

After breakfast we continue our tour crossing the Talas Range through the Chiyim-Tash pass (3600 m). We are going to cross the steep and stony pass on foot. We will pass by shepherds’ yurts and different animals. Short stop for lunch. Dinner and overnight stay in a camp.

Day 5: the Kara-Kuldzha pass

After breakfast we will ride along a mountain river towards the Kara-Kuldzha pass (3161 m). On your way you will see different animals including marmots. Short stop for lunch during the day.

Day 6: the Kashka-Suu pass – Lake Kara-Suu

This day is quite tough. After breakfast we will go up to the Kashka-Suu pass (challenging but rewarding). Short stop for lunch during the day. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp located on the shore of Lake Kara -Suu.

Day 7: Kara-Suu lake – the Kotormo pass – Sary-Chelek Biosphere Reserve

After breakfast we will cross the Kotormo pass (2446 m) and arrive at Sary-Chelek Biosphere Reserve. Observe stunning sceneries, forests and wild animals. Short stop for lunch.

Horse riding – 6/7 hours.

Day 8: Sary-Chelek Biosphere Reserve – Arkyt village

After breakfast we will take a ride through Sary-Chelek Biosphere Reserve. Arrival at Arkyt village. Getting to know more about the local lifestyl. Short picnic (lunch) during the day. Shower, dinner and overnight stay in a local home stay.

Day 9: Arkit village – Kyzyl Oi village

After breakfast, we will head towards Kyzyl Oi village. We are going to pass by the Toktogul Reserve (the biggest water reserve in Central Asia). Besides, we will visit the village of Kyrgyz national hero Kojomkul. Dinner and overnight stay at a home stay.

Day 10: Kyzyl Oi village – Kyzart village – Song-Kol  Lake

After the breakfast,  we will head to Kyzart village (2-3 hours) from where we begin our horseback riding tour to Song-Kol Lake through the Kyzart Pass (3300 m), where we will stop for lunch and enjoy the panoramic views of the nomads’  pearl – Song-Kol. Arrival at the yurt camp in the afternoon. You will have time to walk around and get to know more about the daily life in yurts. Dinner and overnight stay in the yurt at 3030 m.

Day 11: Song-Kol Lake

After breakfast, we will continue exploring the area of Song-Kol Lake and getting to know more about the life of the nomads that live on the shore of the lake. Dinner and overnight stay in yurts.

Day 12: Transfer to Bishkek

After breakfast, we will head to Bishkek (by car) through the Kalmak Ashuu (3400m). On our way we will visit the historical capital of Kara Khanid Empire – Balasagun and its minaret  – Burana. Arrival at the Hotel in the afternoon, free time to take a shower. Afterwards we will visit the souvenir shopes and famous Osh Bazar market. Dinner in a local restaurant, accommodation in Rich Hotel.

 Day 13: Transfer to airport.
